I’ve been pushing pixels, kerning ems, constraining anchor points and pulling handles for more than 20 years.

And in that time, I’ve designed a lot of stuff.

I enjoyed a foundational year in university studying fine art, before graduating college with a diploma in interpretive illustration. I dabbled in both fields before finding my true calling in graphic design.

I’ve enjoyed a varied career as a Creative Director, Art Director and Graphic Designer across agency, in-house, public sector and film production industries. I excel at creative strategy and design; directing multidisciplinary teams; supporting cross-functional leadership and stakeholders; and pulling out all the stops to deliver compelling creative.

I am insatiably curious; a proud generalist and humble specialist; and an arts and culture fanatic. I’m impelled by empathy, driven by results and a notorious master of the Irish Goodbye at social gatherings. I am also a devoted mentor who is endlessly inspired by what new creatives in the field have to offer.

I hold a certification with the Canadian Association of Registered Graphic Designers and live and work in Toronto.

My name is pronounced Deer-dree Hues.
